The Vineyard landscape of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato, located of Piedmont region (North West of Italy), on june 2014 has been nominated "cultural landscape" of UNESCO World Heritage List thanks to the outstanding value of its wine culture which has shaped the landscape over the centuries. A labyrinth of hills, a breathtaking skyline of castles lost in a sea of vineyards. The countryside featured in the novels of Beppe Fenoglio and Cesare Pavese, is the celebrated home of the Barolo wine, one of Italy's greatest wines noted for his ability to age. The Langhe’s magic moment arrives every year at the end of the summer, when the hills are tinged with red of the long rows of grape vines that circumnavigate the ridges of the hills, wines like Barolo, Barbaresco and Moscato d’Asti known all over the world as is the Alba truffle. The most famous is The Myth, the local nickname of Barolo, a peak of excellence of Piedmontese wines thanks to the meticulous care of the vineyards. At the end of the last century the Barolo has been trasformed itself in a woldwide liquid icon thanks also to people like Bruno and Marcello Ceretto, the so-called Barolo brothers able to match the wine to contemporary culture and today the dirupting architecture of their wineries spot the landscape, as their jewel, a small chapel repainted by Sol Lewitt and David Tremlett. The WIMU, the new Museum of Wine of Barolo village, has become one of the main tourist attractions of the area giving new life to the ancient castle of Giulia Falletti, the last Marchioness of Barolo, creator in the middle of the nineteenth century of the "new" Barolo. The truffle instead, nicknamed the "Gold of the Langhe", for the musician Gioacchino Rossini was the "Mozart of mushrooms" because of truffles there are so many but no one is able to undermine the White Truffle of Alba, an underground fungus in symbiosis with a tree from whose roots obtained the perfume, while the shape and color depend on the type of tree. A perfect recipe for becoming a new Chiantishire, more authentic and affordable to connoisseurs all over the world.
