Ladin is a Rhaeto-Romance language spoken in the Dolomites Mountains of the Northern Italy. In South Tyrol the Ladins are the third ethnic group after the German and Italian groups and the large local politic autonomy helped the Ladins to save their traditional culture and language, but Ladins culture is still alive also because many contemporary artists, mainly sculptors of Val Badia and Val Gardena, are innovatine the traditional wood carving and now espose in imany international art galleries. So the Ladin culture, and the new Ladin pride, try to survive in a delicate equilibre between a traditional mountain world and the massive tourism of Dolomites mountain, declared a UNESCO World Heritage.
