Santa Maria de Montserrat (Monestir de Montserrat) is a Benedectine abbey located on the mountain of Montserrat. It is notable for enshrining the image of Our Lady of Montserrat, popularly known as La Moreneta (the Dark One), due to the dark colour of Her skin, a truly beautiful 12th-century Romanesque polychrome carving.
